Students enrolled in this newly created associate degree program at NMU will have courses in business, computer information systems and cyber security to form the wide-reaching skills necessary for this exciting and rapidly expanding field.
Students will learn about:
- Accounting practices
- Business and cyber law
- Networks and security
- Unix administration
- Choose from classes in e-commerce, digital and network forensics and mobile applications
How to Get Started
High School Credit
Students should inquire within their guidance office about high school curriculum requirements that may be satisfied through a college course, as this is determined individually by school district.
- Students earn direct college credits from NMU at no cost
The Upper Peninsula Cybersecurity Institute at NMU was unveiled May 2, 2019 during a well-attended grand opening celebration in The Northern Center (formerly University Center).
The institute is the only U.P. facility of its kind and one of six statewide. It offers non-degree and industry credentials relevant to emerging careers, augments NMU's existing cyber defense bachelor's degree and provides career exploration and training opportunities for K-12 school districts.
