Community service is at the core of what we do in CTE. Nowhere is that more evident than in the high school welding program at NMU’s Jacobetti Complex, which is open to students from any of the high schools in Marquette and Alger Counties.
This program has produced:
- Safety handrails for the Negaunee Volunteer Fire Department’s Training Center
- Safety handrails for a local athletic stadium
- A variety of products for local non-profits
- Ironworks for many other community projects
Currently, the students are working on display lighting poles for the Iron Ore Heritage Trail and a transport sled for the re-built Santa’s Workshop in Ishpeming.
